ILOILO CITY — The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Iloilo in Western Visayas (WV) welcomes the upcoming redevelopment of the Iloilo Commercial Port Complex (ICPC) here.

According to BOC-Iloilo District Collector Julius B . Premediles, the project will be a big boost to their operation, especially to their import and export services.

Premediles said men and women of Port of Iloilo in Western Visayas are committed and ready to serve international container arrivals through the new management of Visayas Container Terminal.
“We are ready to serve various international container arrivals directly to Iloilo from different economic hubs of the world,” said Premediles.

Earlier, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) awarded International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) a 25-year concession contract to develop and operate the port facility.

Premediles expressed optimism with the well-equipped, new and hight-tech arrastre operator serving international containers.

The BOC, for the year 2024 under the leadership of Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, has contributed almost half a billion revenue to the government expenditures specially to Internal Revenue Allotment of Cities and Municipalities of Region 6.

The BOC-WV, in particular, is consistent in surpassing its revenue target for the months of January and February.
