The Iloilo Provincial Government, headed by Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., and Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) officially kicked off the launch of Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan Festival today, Dec. 13, at SM City Iloilo Events Center.

The event introduced the nine participating tribes:

Saad Festival of Leganes; Katagman Festival of Oton; Pantat Festival of Zarraga; Cry of Jelicuon Festival of New Lucena; Kaing Festival of Leon; Tultugan Festival of Maasin; Hirinugyaw-Suguidadonay Festival of Calinog; Banaag Festival of Anilao; and Kasag Festival of Banate.

Short performances were showcased depicting the rich history of Iloilo, as reflected by the province’s new tourism slogan, “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo.”

Mayor Jerry P. Treรฑas said that the Iloilo Provincial Government will be the first to manage and facilitate the Kasadyahan Festival 2024, which is now rebranded as Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan Festival.

It has been an integral part of the Dinagyang Festival, which has become a traditional platform to showcase the vibrant and diverse culture of Iloilo.

“Madamo gid nga salamat kag panginbuhalan sa aton Iloilo Provincial Government under Gov. Toto Defensor for taking a step forward with much stronger support and commitment in our efforts to showcase and deliver the best Dinagyang and Kasadyahan festivals ever,” Mayor Treรฑas said.

“For me, itโ€™s indeed the time, now more than ever, to level up our meaningful collaborations as one Iloilo, bound by our people, resources, faith, culture, and tradition; take a collective stride forward; and bring the city and province to greater heights.”

“Let us work together towards greatness with the โ€˜Fun Foodie Friendly Iloiloโ€™ and let โ€˜Our Hearts Beat’ in Iloilo City!” he added.
