Coming from different districts of Iloilo, the competing tribes are Kaing Festival of Leon; Kasag Festival of Banate; Saad Festival of Leganes; Katagman Festival of Oton; Tultugan Festival of Maasin; Banaag Festival of Anilao; Cry of Jelicuon Festival of New Lucena; Hinirugyaw Sugidanon of Calinog; and Pantat Festival of Zarraga.
The Iloilo Provincial Government and the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) will co-manage the 2024 Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan Festival.
Iloilo Provincial Tourism Officer Bombette Marin said the tribe contenders will present different genre of performances to include food-based, industry-based, religious, and historical.
“We are looking forward to a grand ‘Kasadyahan sa mga Kabanwahanan’ festivity. We also make sure nga and ‘Fun Foodie Friendly Iloilo’ nga tagline set by no less than our Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. will be executed as well as aton mga performances,” Marin said.
The program for Kasadyahan will start at 1:30 p.m. at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand. There will be special performances from three drum and bugle corps in between the tribes’ performances.
The IFFI and the provincial government will officially introduce the nine participating tribes during the kick-off program for the Kasadyahan Festival on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at SM City Iloilo.
Spectators will get a glimpse of their respective performances. A press conference that will be joined by the governor and municipal mayors of participating towns will follow.
